Problem at Monza, less aero, more tyre slip on track, hence more deg. In FP sessions, we looked good.

Race sims over first 7 laps on super-softs P2: VET 1:51.128; RIC 51.141; HAM 51.367. Merc worst tyre deg of three, Red Bull best

Red bull are better!Keeping them behind us will eliminate that (Deg.)advantage.

It would be good then if Raikkonen applied pressure to make sure Ricciardo doesn't try to fall back in order to save his tyres for an undercut.

Again with the changes we made on the car since FP2 might change that also(that they have better deg).Even so it isnt like we had so much worse and in the average times we where a bit quiker!!!So they might be quiker in the end of a stint, but we wil be on the start and pull away!!!!

kimi won't have to apply pressure on Ricciardo....he will take ricchiardo by first corner and we'll have a Ferrari 1-2....i like this scenario WAY better

Hope Ferrari have improved tyre deg since friday.Still if our boys can keep the Red Bulls behind at the start,we should be ok.

I'm very happy for Seb's pole, it's been five years since the last dry pole for Ferrari!

Great result. But the two drivers on the front row should have been out lineup for next year. I can't believe how far off the pace Kimi is.

IIRC, Vettel was the last driver to get a pole without Mercedes engine, and he's again the first driver to get a pole without Mercedes engine.

Even if RIC does have better race pace, overtaking is difficult here. I remember Singapore 2010 were Vettel in his RB couldn't find a way past Alonson

Red Bull won't have better race pace, Ferrari ran heavy on Friday.

Yes I read reports suggesting Ferrari had more fuel then RB, let's not froger that RIC has had some slow starts this season so he might be mugged by KIMI (If he can get a good start) into the first corner.

Also very possible. With the new regulations all the starts are somewhat of a gamble, Kimi certainly hasn't been strong off the line of late. We'll just have to wait and see, if a Red Bull gets ahead I think Ferrari should have no issue passing them.

The interesting race will be Ricciardo v Raikkonen for 2nd position.

Just a silly conspiracy theory here but after reading Hamilton's complaints about the tyres not working well for them this race, I wonder if Mercedes, who had issues with their tyre pressure last race, was made to comply with regulations and therefore losing their edge. Maybe that was their little "secret". Did they get caught?.......

somehow, i find that hard to believe, that 1-2 PSI difference would make that BIG of a difference....we're talking NEARLY 1.5 seconds adrift....that is HUGE time deficit in general, LET ALONE in Formula 1

but who the heck knows...these F1 cars are sooooooo sensible nowadays....

i personally think that is more to do with getting these super soft tires that the Merc's have issues getting them to work in the right window....they seem to like the Medium and Soft tires best....

in any case, if it is down to the FIA clamping down and being more stringent about tire pressures and this is the WAY is gonna be from now on....then i guess those MERC'S will see the back end of those Ferrari's more often this season......
    Forza Ferrari SEMPRE!!!

Seb and Ferrari are where they belong, on pole, Seb's former home away from home. Just one great way for us fans to start the race. For me we won already. I can always yell and curse after the race if we don't. BTW I for one am sick of hearing about tyres making or breaking the win. Ferrari needs to meet with Flavio Briatore and figure out how to get around the Pirelli tyre porblems .

I doubt that's the case. The relative position among the Merc powered cars remains the same. We have Merc, then Williams and Force India. All Merc powered cars were down the order, not just Merc. If it was a case of tire pressure, this would only affect Merc, rather than all Merc powered cars.

It appears to me that it may be related to the PU, as that's the one component all these teams have in in common. My guess is that it could be due to how the PU deliver powers, maybe the Merc PU work the rear tires less hard, which is good in normal condition. But in situation where it's difficult to get temperatures into the tire, then the PU that work the rear tires harder will end up being advantageous as the extra energy can help increase the temps.

Just a guess. But whatever the reason is, it's affecting all Merc powered cars.

It's not like Mercedes got slower compared to others either. Their gap to Williams in Monaco and Singapore has been the same for the last 2 years.

Otoh, one reason I've been worried about tyre deg is Red Bull's last sector times. They are faster than Ferrari in last sector. They manage to hold onto their tyres better by the end of the lap.

I also thought this. Last race wasn't a one time thing for sure, they have done it before, maybe every race but they got caught just now. That + the mercs engine cars arent doing so well here brings this result. It's not just the engine because mercs were ahead by double the margin compared to other merc engine(FI, Lotus, williams) in other races so tyre pressure surely is one of the factors

The difference between mercs and williams is 0.2 i doubt that is considered normal. I think its not just the engine, but engine + tyre pressure

I think RBR are a real threat, we are all very optimistic, that kimi might jump ricciardo but what if ricciardo jumps vettel? Also a bit worried about our last race when our qualy was far better than our race pace. It will be show time today and I can't wait for it !

+1, of course we all want a 1-2 or a double podium but there are so many variables on a street circuit, all we can do is hope and pray that justice will be done. Forza Ferrari!
