    Thumbs up 2011 Valencia Testing.

well as 1 hasnt been started. Thought id crack on with it.

Everything set for the F150’s track debut 1.31.2011

Cheste, 31 January – In just a few hours time, the lights will go green to officially get the 2011 season underway. 10 o’clock tomorrow morning sees the start of the first of four test sessions, this one at the “Ricardo Tormo” circuit, at Cheste, on the outskirts of Valencia, prior to the opening round of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Bahrain Grand Prix.

All the teams are here in Cheste, however not all of them have their new car ready. Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro was first to lift the veil on its latest creation, running the F150, which has already tasted track action with a few dozen kilometres at Fiorano, in a session aimed at acquiring film footage for promotional use. The car which will be entrusted to Fernando Alonso tomorrow and Wednesday will be in the same configuration seen last Friday in Maranello at the launch presentation.

The work schedule for this first session will focus mainly on the overall reliability of the F150 and on increasing understanding of the new Pirelli tyres. There was some rain today, but the weather is due to improve over the next few days.

Testing starts at 10am (according to the 1st post), so in India that would be 14:30 (I may be wrong)

f1today.nl is great for timings and images. It's foreign though, so live text won't be particularly useful.

I think they've probably got more important things on their minds than updating people with a live feed of testing

The best place in all honesty is twitter (if you don't find an English text feed). If you're following the right people, the news is pretty constant.

Then just use F1Today for timing, laps etc and you're sorted.

Nobody will be offering live live timing. Twitter is the closest we get I'm afraid.

10:30 am Paffett to the pits, one on the track in Cheste

10:28 h Alonso into the pits. Paffett improvement, 1:26.212. Vettel pits.

10:26 pm First time: Alonso, 1:18.436; Paffett, 1:30.471. Go back to the pits Hulkenberg and Rosberg, Vettel goes.

    10:25 h Hulkenberg on track.

10:23 h Alonso and Paffett on track. Also out for the first time, the W02 with Nico Rosberg at the wheel.

10:22 h Without the first half of the 2011 season yet ... Kobayashi back to the pits.

    Wouldn't get excited!

Only him and Paffett in a semi-old McLaren have posted times with both doing 4 laps each.

I doubt we will know who is where until the last couple of days of the final test.

p.s. Why are McLaren not running Jenson or Lewis?

My guess is they want to see how the Pirellis evolve during the first tests & optimise the setup on the new car thus saving time for Jenson & Lewis, same reason they didn't let Jenson & Lewis do the Pirelli test at the end of Nov2010 after the Abu dhabi GP

Looking at car launch images I can safely say that the new Mercedes is easily the most adapted from last year.

Wings, 'barge boards', sidepods, nose and loads more totally changed. It looks mean.

Let's hope we can destroy it!

F1Lite The track is currently quiet with most installation laps having been completed. Lotus won't be running at all today.
