@Hornet...Good post, Kimi is 2007 Ferrari WDC. That is a fact..Everything else I heard in 09 about him were rumors. Things people and journo's made up...
Wasnt he the only driver to actually do something good in the F160?
I also believe in 2008, he did everything he could to help Felipe win the WDC. I wish that wouldve worked out for Felipe.

For now, I'm just not a fan of this decision, to let go of Massa and bring Kimi in.

Speaking of next year, someone posted an article where Luca said next year we may see driver conserving fuel. I hope we can squeeze in some racing between the conservative engine rules and whatever Pirelli do with the tires next season, lol.
Yes Hornet, you are right. All those new rules and constant changing makes F1 everything but not F1 as it was during 80's, 90's and beginning of 2000. From time to time, when I have some free time for my self (two beautiful small girls 5 and 3), I like to watch seasons reviews from the past. Ufffff, those were the times.

I for one is very happy that Kimi is back. He has shown that he never lost his speed. It's a interesting choice, as Ferrari kind of trashed Kimi before.
What i like about Kimi is that he just races. No BS.
I'm sad to see Massa go and I wish him all the best in life where ever it might be. He worked his behind off for the team. I know lots of you guys think he is not pulling enough. I disagree with that view.

If kimi gets a good car he will always be fast.

I think Luca joked in December 2010 that Felipe's brother had been driving because Felipe himself was fed up.

Is it mandatory, if youre a Kimi fan to hate Alonso ?? Is it mandatory to hate Kimi if youre an Alonso fan?
I think this is an exciting time for Ferrari..2 WDC's driving together for the Prancing Horse...and I may add..they are
    both absolute killer racers.

Im very excited, yet sad on the Felipe front.... time stands still for no one... to be a Ferrari fan
is a never ending, enjoyable ride.

There, I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents, amid the chaos, fighting and general craziness this news has brought.
Funny thing is, both Alonso and Kimi are probably very good friends who hold a great deal of respect for each other...
yet they will drive the wheels off to beat each other...wow, exciting times coming...lets hope the FIA can get the rules
back to where we have actual...real...racing and not some spec series, look alike, sound alike doped up cars that merely resemble
what Formula 1 actualy stands for...Forza Ferrari.
Hey Nova, how much easier is it for us Ferrari fans, personally I don't really mind who drives our cars, as long as they extract the maximum from them i'm happy, definately seems less stressful than being a driver fan...

Obviously we don't know what actually happened, but if I was guessing i'd suggest that it was nothing to do with Kimi himself but Ferrari couldn't let Felipe go after his accident and Alonso was coming in, maybe if the accident didn't happen we could have had Fernando and Kimi together in '10, like I said, this is pure speculation and only Kimi and Luca know the whole truth, but i'd suggest it wasn't a mistake then and it isn't a mistake now, it's simply a change in circumstances...

Well, I always thought I was a team fan - I didn't support Jaguar when Eddie left, I stuck with Michael and Ferrari, and then again with Felipe when Michael retired/went to Merc. Unfortunately Felipe has grown on me like a Brazilian fungus and I am very attached to him now, so maybe he has made me a driver fan If he went to another team of course I will support him, but I wouldn't be buying any merch or caring about the wider team, not like I have with Ferrari for so many years.

I am looking forward to the day when Ferrari hire a driver I actually like again, but looks like I have over two seasons to wait for that. Just a shame that the Perez thing never worked out... apparently Latin American nutcases are now my thing In all honesty I don't know who I will root for next season, but between exploding tyres, pay drivers, tracks I've no interest in and DRS passing, I can see myself enjoying the bikes more next year, I'm on the verge of that already this year as it is.

I can understand your feelings Suzie! I am and will Always be a Ferrari fan no matter who is driving for the team. But I have to admit it hurts me soo much to see Felipe leaving. I have nothing against Fernando and Kimi but to be honest they don't give me the same feeling Felipe did. The combination of Ferrari red with Felipe's (in my view by far the most beautiful) helmet is just great to see! Iam gonna miss him very much, but Suzie, don't forget Felipe still has 7 races with Ferrari so please enjoy them just as I will do!

From Suzie "I am looking forward to the day when Ferrari hire a driver I actually like again, but looks like I have over two seasons to wait for that."

    Anyone on the short list?

Not really. I do like Perez because he's a bit crazy but aside from that...

Well I think there was a reason he was sacked in the first place so not all rumours aren't untrue, question is which are

He was sacked because Fernando came to Ferrari, and Felipe was injured in line of duty.

Maybe all the Kimi and Fernando fans should unite in a mutual dislike of Di Resta.

He was sacked to bring Alonso earlier, Alonso was coming to replace Kimi anyway.

What a load of rubbish. That only happened in the mind of a kimibot.

Because it's Ferrari. Ferrari is the big draw, they make the headlines and controversy sells.

Lucky Dodo - I still haven't seen the explanation why you thought Stella should be given to Kimi, just interested in your thoughts about the subject. It is not confirmed that Slade is coming with Kimi...

First off I want to say I have always liked Kimi, even when he was at McLaren. However, a lot of the things fans like him for are more tolerable when he is on another team. When it is happening on your team, it isn't so much fun.

Kimi did lose some respect from the tifosi. Many felt like he was sleep walking through his final two seasons and not putting forth his best effort. Right or wrong that is how it is. Ever since Kimi left Ferrari some of his fans have been here nit-picking everything Ferrari, Massa or Alonso does wrong as if to prove Ferrari was wrong in getting rid of Kimi.

The fact is, Massa had equaled and even bettered Kimi in all areas when they were together at Ferrari. Kimi was getting paid twice as much as Felipe yet the results were not twice as good. The choice of a fully motivated Alonso over a Kimi who didn't seem to care was an easy one.

I'm not so sure Kimi wasn't ready to leave, and not just leave Ferrari but leave F1 altogether. We have to remember what a pressure cooker these drivers live in.
I think the time off did Kimi some good. I think it re-ignited his fire for F1. Kimi seems to be back on top form again and has been driving brilliantly since his return, so hopefully that bodes well for him and Ferrari this time around.

That said, it is true Kimi will have to earn back some respect from the tifosi, and his fans will have to as well.

I completely get your drift, Suzie, but am getting a bit concerned about your penchant for Latin American men, drivers or otherwise. Saying that, though, why not support a driver you actually like, in whatever sense!! And Felipe was definitely one of those.
