One area where the Ferrari does seem to excel is under braking, with the change down through the gears audibly more seamless than any other car, which AUTOSPORT technical guru Gary Anderson suggests could derive from playing with a zero torque loss downshift.

We don't know for sure, but perhaps Ferrari is ahead of the game with such technology.

People seem to think homologation means no changes can be made? it does not mean that at all. All it means is that the FIA approve the engine to be used to race.

Only homologated parts can be used. If an engine is changed it is no longer the homologated engine and cannot be used.

Not sure if the F14-T looks better than all our other previous cars since 2008, but I definitely agree that this design looks really awesome and I also love the livery, there could be a little less black parts but other than that it looks simply amazing. The more I look at our car, the more I like it.

I'll never understand why people get upset and call it ugly. Any car with wings and open wheels painted in Rosso Corsa with a Prancing Horse logo will never be ugly to me.

Actually new engines sound very bad! Sound of turbine is as loud as engine itself, and i don't know which sound is worse. Here is comparison of V8 and V6 engines (last half of video), you can hear that V6 is quieter than V8. I didn't like live sound of V8 engines cause of all of throttle blowing and engine maps, but V6 has same farting sound and sounds like old Lancia without exhaust.

I could be wrong, but I think the current V6 engine sound is dominated by exhaust sound and turbo sound. The old V8 high pitch sound comes from the moving parts of the engine itself, but the V6 reminds me of those loud road cars with oversized exhaust.

I've also seen many people who attended the test saying they no longer need to wear those ear plugs with the V6 engine.

Maybe RedBull are learning F1 isn't all about fancy aero concepts.
After years of being kept constant and relegated to another device from which aero gains can be made, the engine is back to prominence. Good. It is the most important part of an automobile so it should be this important.

RedBull are finally learning that. What was that line our great founder said about Aerodynamics?

If it was Mercedes or Lotus i would feel sorry for them! But after last season and their crying about tyres , i really don't care what happens to Red Bull! Four years in a row is more than enough!

I think you may need to add Williams to that list this year. Time will tell, but both Massa and Bottas have looked good, especially on the harder tires (hard/winter). As for Lotus, they have lost so many really good people at every level in the team; driver, designer(s), principal, it will be difficult for them to repeat last years performance.

It would have been great if we had Williams as our engine customer. Not just because Massa is driving it, but they have been pretty well prepared for the testing as well, putting the Merc engine through plenty of laps.

Williams have a good engine now and at least one very good driver. I don´t think we can compare them to last years team anymore.

To be honest, I think the Williams is the best looking car of the field.
When I look at the Ferrari, I have the idea it could start sniffing any moment....., but it doesn´t matter as long as it smells the finishline and starts running toward it.
