Enough of Red Bull/Merc team orders discussion, it all grates with me. Poor start from Felipe, lets Fernando across to get at Vettel, hits Vettel going slowly, Felipe gets boxed in and others pass around him, race effectively ruined. Then poor pit call by team, chaos reigned and one car out. So much for all our optimism, just goes to show that even quali performance means nothing when there are so many other variables. Bravo Felipe for at least getting your 5th place back. Onwards and upwards....maybe?

it reminded me of Canada 2011, where we were also optimistic before the race after getting a 2nd/3rd in qualifying. Race turned out to be terrible.

Also, it seems that Christian Horner should be fired since he essentially cant control his drivers. Or he approved the move by Vettel but just isnt man enough to admit it.

Asked if the team could have told Vettel to give the lead back, he said: “Do you honestly think if we’d told him to slow down and give the place back he would have slowed down and given it back? There’s no point. He’d made it quite clear what his intention was by making the move. He knew what the communication was, he had the communication, he chose to ignore it."

    Forza Ferrari!!!
I agree, I am gutted to loose so many points so early but would have been even more gutted if there was only two races to go. We must take the positives. Alonso had speed even with the damage and the way the two RB drivers are going at each other so early on and only play into our hands as their egos interfere with their driving. Come on you Ferrari fans lets get the good vibes going again, me for one, first, middle or last or off the track my blood is red - Ferrari red. Forza Ferrari always

Or decided that, publicly, he didn't want to further embarrass the team? Would love to be a fly on the wall during that debriefing!

I wonder if Vettel will be sporting any "unexplained" bruises, in the next day or so?

= driver out of control - but to be honest what would we have said if this was Shumacher in the Shumi days

So that's why Mark Webber made the "protection" remark. If it was a serious team order, Red Bull surely would of made Vettel give the position back which they didn't.

Disastrous result! Why are the team taking such excessive risks for? We clearly saw what it means for the team to take on too much risk - just look back at Canada 2012. Instead of a possible podium to the lower end of the top 10 in points we gambled for a win. I agree that sometimes we need to take on risk but this was too much given the situation. We have a competitive card and a very good driver. It wasn't worth it. Even if the FW stayed on, I would still think that the team was taking on a huge risk therefor a mistake. Just because it doesn't fall off which is counting on luck doesn't make it a good decision. It's still a bad decision. We were leading the WCC and we threw it all away.

I've said this before but Alonso qualifying behind Massa will cause problems this year. Unfortunately, for Alonso this means he will have to be more aggressive at the starts because he knows if he is behind Massa he will likely be stuck behind him for a while during the race.

The team generally does a good job but sometimes we make very bad decisions. That's the price you pay for wanting to win but this could prove to be very costly in the WDC and WCC. We threw away the WCC lead.

IMO, Massa losing places wasn't because of his poor start, but our new car for some reason just doesn't have the pace in these conditions. Even Massimo have said, we will be strong if it's dry, but Vettel will be untouchable if it rain. So Ferrari is aware of the lack of pace in these conditions.

There wasn't any point for Massa to fight Alonso harder and risk an accident. Had our car had the pace, I think Massa would have held on to 3rd. Looking forward to the next dry race. We should be fine as long as our dry pace is great.

Interesting comment from FA..turn 2, and Vettel was there going slow..something like that...
1 thing 4 sure..without the Ferrari of Alonso in the race, RB had it there own way. On race pace
Alonso wouldve caused quite a stir at the front.
I dont give a hoot about other teams team orders...they can do what they want. Its only the 2nd race of the year, and although we lost some valuable
points or even a victory, we are still in much better shape than last year. In every race I have watched or followed my whole life, if Ferrari doesnt do well,
Im upset. But Ferrari always shows up at the next race, so regardless of this decision or that drivers moves, bring on the next race.
Ferrari will be there, n so will I.

I don't think Mark will stoop that low .... he would get put in the same " pot " as Vettel and that can't be good .
"Michael showed that he is the greatest. He stole the show today. And he did that without even winning the race." comments from Willi Weber

When, oh when will finger boy's luck run out?! He has so much bad karma built up that it's bound to come back and bite him in the *** sooner or later, it's just a question of when. The sooner the better!

Seb was in the wrong but Webber knows Seb is the no1 and he has signed new deals despite knowing that, he made his bed.

He should have went to Ferrari. I'd happily see him help Alonso to the title and you never know, he might even outperform him.

Maybe Massa will have another dreadful year and he can move over next year.

You just really see that Mark wants to reveal how they work at Red Bull but he is able himself to not say it in the end. This probably is his worst day of his career in F1. Would have loved it to see Mark give Bieber a punch in his face on the podium

What are you talking Infi24r ! Felipe drives very good since Silverstone 2012 already and there is no indication at all he will not have a good year. Felipe is a fantastic driver and Iam sure he's gonna make us very happy this year and hopefully after 2013 as well!

    Yep.

The thing is Mateschitz still really likes Webber and always supports him. So he always has help from the very top.

This is a big disaster for Red Bull as a brand today. Vettel just showed why he's perceived as such a brat.

I like Massa and I hope he goes well.

But id prefer to see Webber at Ferrari.

He had his chance last year, I said at the time he was a fool for re-signing with Red Bull and I stand by it.

Complete agree with you mate. Stupid decision. Yes I know that many will say it is easy now to make decision when all is done, but it was clearly that damage to the FW is big enough that FA needs to pit an change it. That was end of lap one. First pit stops for changing tires to slicks, if I am not mistaken, started around lap 5 or 6. No way car with that much damaged FW can stay on track and hold position. My point is even if FW didn't fall off FA car, he will lose positions easely. So there sould be any gains, just bigger loss.
    Stupid decision!

You can have your opinion but Felipe is my favourite driver by far of all who are driving these days. Before Felipe it was Michael. Nothing against Mark but can't he go to Lotus maybe next year if Grosjean doesn't do well? Felipe is a true Ferrari-man and he just belongs at Ferrari and nowhere else.
