"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.
Thank you! :)
RB is reminding me of how we started winter testing with F2012
Exactly. The entire car's aero needs to work together, from the front to the rear, everything helps dictates how the air flows. If you change the sidepod, you need to change other parts as well as the sidepod plays a major role in how the air flows.
Another important thing is as Ferrari and other teams begin to do aero testing, Red Bull has yet to do anything, so this will be another disadvantage to them, even if they can solve their reliability issue eventually.
Can't feel sorry for them though. They are our competitors.![]()
AUTOSPORT's F1 technical expert Gary Anderson looks at the problems the world champion squad is having.
The reason for the stoppage hasn't yet emerged, but this is worrying for Red Bull given that the new RB10 has managed a grand total of 11 complete laps in two-and-a-half days.
The technical rumour mill in the paddock suggests that Renault is less than pleased with Red Bull's installation of the control electronics in its 2014 car.

Software systems on RB aren't working with eachother and it's 10°C out there and allready they are overheating so...
I LIKE!!!
Hero's come and go, but legends never die!
ohh god, all this mocking of red bull...I have a strange feeling that its gunna come back and bite us, look how they bolt on parts when it came to the over sea stretch in the season...where talking atleast half a second updates in the past few years! lets stay humble people!
Also that Williams looks bare, even if they do get a title/major sponser such as martini!
also last season pre season testing where they didn't introduce the ramp exhaust until the very last day! Anybody have lap count for today?!
Why do you think that RB is the team to beat. Don't you see their time is over. They are just a drink company pumped into this sport and protected so far by smugglers. Forget about them there are stronger competitors in the play.

Your right, we should ease up on the mocking in this forum because karma comes back around. Although I will admit it is nice to see RB in trouble, and it's extra nice to see cry baby Vettel with a frown on his face. It truly shows his true colours that he packed up and ran home to cry instead of talking to the media and staying with the team. If RBs woes continue, we'll see the true face and skill of the current world champion.

I'm sure Red Bull fans do the same too. If it comes back and bite us after 4 titles, it's fine by me
Besides we're not the only one who's glad to see this. I think after 4 years of dominance, people are desperate for a change in the standing. It's all just some harmless fun while we wait for the season to start![]()
I start to feel a little worried for RBR. I want Ferrari and especialy Kimi to beat them on the track in tight races. Ferrari seems stronger then for many years and it would be sad if we wouldn't have a chance to beat RBR in a fair fight

Would dear to say that RedBull MABY once again got a good, maby better car than ours from an aerodynamic perspective. That's what people that know this thing are saying. It's the parts from Renault that are failing them. If they get the parts going, they will be up the at the top once again. So don't feel sorry or write them off now, they'll get it sorted out eventually. I'd bet on it.
According to AMuS, two teams might need to change their noses because of the way they behave during a crash-test. Rumours are that those teams might be RB and Mercedes.

I'll tell you what: I may not be completely convinced the F14's aero is that much better compared to last year, or that the suspension will know what to do with the tires, but I am convinced the Ferrari engine is both powerful and reliable and that Ferrari have done a wonderful job at packaging the car's internals. In fact, James Allison said so himself, which I reckon took Ferrari 80% of the development time until now. It may pay dividends later on.
As for the aerodynamics, if the wind-tunnel is indeed producing correct results, then there will be nothing stopping Ferrari from outmuscling Red Bull, McLaren, and Mercedes over the season, even if it means copying every single good idea others got.
Now I'm only 50% worried, which is much better than a few hours ago.
From here you can see the laps as well the best time.
(Thank you original poster, I forgot your name already)

Seems like Adrian Newey may have went too aggressive with the car packaging.@tedkravitz 12m
Lots of drilling in RB pit. Seems turbo and battery control unit packaging is too tight, not a Renault prob![]()
Because if the cooling system capacity is not sufficient then you increase the capacity. If the packaging is too tight you make more room. What effect all this may or may not have on the aero package is unfortunate but necessary and then you deal with those consequences.
That's true, though this time I think it may not be as easy for RB to solve. For example, in the past, we've heard many cases of their KERS failing and they got away with it. This time the ERS plays an even bigger role so they will have to solve it or risk losing each time their ERS fails. The temperature in Jerez is also very low and already they burn something![]()
But perhaps the software problems may cause engine/KERS/ERS/whatever run too hot.
Making openings etc. to the sidepods should no be too difficult to do if the possible problem lies solely in the tight packaging.
Lee McKenzie, BBC F1 pit-lane reporter
"Red Bull's nightmare test continues. I'm told they are done for the day. They were hoping to get out for another installation lap at about 16:30 local but that is now not going to happen. They will be hoping to fix whatever problems they're having with the energy-recovery system overnight in time to get in some miles on the final day on Friday."
