In principle Ferrari goes with a heavy load d configuration not only ls and reaches 300km / h. The rear wing is under load and higher DRS
A gentle start for Kimi.
Sakhir, 21 February – A slightly more complicated morning than the previous two for the Ferrari F14 T, at the third day of testing for the Scuderia and ten other Formula 1 teams at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain. On his first day, Kimi Raikkonen got off to a good start, carrying out aerodynamic tests, as well as working on set-up and doing some practice starts. Then progress slowed as the team had to sort out a telemetry connection problem, which although trivial took up a lot of time. It is to be expected as Formula 1 embarks on an era with more emphasis on technology than ever before. With no pressing need to chase performance, the team decided to have an in-depth look at the problem, so as to get the most out of the new systems, once the telemetry glitch had been sorted. On the weather front, it’s another beautiful sunny day here and the wind has dropped to a gentle breeze since yesterday.
Times at 13h00 local:
1. Mercedes – Lewis Hamilton 1:34.263 25
2. Sauber – Esteban Gutierrez 1:37.180 45
3. McLaren – Jenson Button 1:37.258 28
4. Lotus – Pastor Maldonado 1:39.642 19

HOPE THIS IS NOT TRUE!! HOLD YOUR GROUND FERRARI!!
The possible threat of protest is now looming over next month’s Formula 1 World Championship season opener in Australia, with Mercedes and Renault taking issue with the ultra-lightweight Ferrari engine cover.
We reported a month ago that a dispute was brewing between Formula 1 engine suppliers Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault.
The dispute is about the protective covering on the top of Ferrari’s turbo unit, weighing in at a crucial 3 kilograms lighter than the ones fitted on the Mercedes and Renault units.
Mercedes and Renault argue that Ferrari’s cover needs to be more substantial for safety reasons in the event of a dangerous turbo failure, but Ferrari’s explanation was initially accepted by the governing FIA.

Reportedly, Ferrari’s setup mitigates the need for a heavier cover because the turbo shuts down at even the slightest sign of failure.
“Mercedes and Renault are not satisfied that the FIA is satisfied,” said Auto Motor und Sport correspondent Michael Schmidt.
“Either Ferrari builds a stronger cover, or there could be a protest [against the results] in Melbourne,” he added.
Another option is also being considered by Renault and Mercedes: copying the Ferrari solution and thereby saving 3 kilograms in crucial car weight.
“The time until homologation on 28 February is however too short,” Schmidt explained. ”In the paddock it is now being reported that Ferrari is strengthening the turbo housing to be on the safe side.” (GMM)
It is their fault, that they did not do it like Ferrari. They can protest as much as they want. FIA deemend it legal so Ferrari should be "safe". To Merc and Renault... suck your *****.
IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT - ENZO FERRARI
bull crap.. Ferrari needs to man up and stop this for the good of the sport crap. They either want to win or they want to just play along and be a patsy to everyone else.
we're number one
There will never be an end to this if we keep giving in each time our competitors threatens to protest and take the sport to court.
Maybe for once we should let them protest, drag the sport to court, watch the whole season crash and burn, whatever. We have to show them that we're not giving in each time the threaten the sport.
This is ridiculous... If Ferrari have a safety feature built in and the FIA have approved then case shut.. Let the others whinge.. It was about time we were innovative....
"That has made me fall in love with Ferrari even more today than ever." Fernando Alonso
We should pull out of this so called "F1" and make our own series, with clear rules and a competent judging panel, the true F1.

"Sebastian,Daniel is Faster Than you"
"Tough Luck!"
AMuS reports that Alonso was fastest on the straight with 336.4 kph follwed by Magnussen (330.8 kph) and Massa (327.2kph).
yes.
Good news for our engine power
AMUS reports : "That Alonso had the fastest top speed on day 2 336.4 km/h, which is 22 km/h faster than in 2013.
The McLaren was second at 330.2. This would seem to indicate the Ferrari power unit is at least close to the Mercedes in peak power."
ferrari engine is very near to mercedes engine

At the moment I find it worrying but it's too early for final judgement.
At least it shows that Merc can run their PU with more power than Ferrari in a reliable way in all their clients cars, that's a hugh acomplishment this year.
I firmly beleive after seing Merc teams day after day topping times that the Merc PU is the best performer at this time.
You can argue all you want that Ferrari is not running 100%, but maybe Merc isn't running 100% either....
This situation may change before Melbourne (I'm NOT implying Ferrari is doomed) and I hope it does, but until I see it change I won't change my mind.
Just another thought, a quick lap time means nothing if you cannot repeat them during the race with the 100kg fuel limit, so even in the case the Merc proves to be more powerful it might mean nothing in race trim if they have to detune it to save fuel.
Let the losers protest, they will lose.. I hate it when losers try to win by dragging down the winner. If you can't do the job as well, then try harder and quit being a loser trying to drag down the sport. If the FIA say it works and Ferrari does too, then let it go, grow up and move on!

Very strange that Alonso lost more than 1.6s to Magnussen only in the first an third sector with this topspeed.
Sandbagging? Or very very poor traction?![]()
But it cant be poor traction because you need good traction in the second sector where Alonso set the fastest time!
So it must be sandbagging![]()
It was sandbagging, because his S2 time yesterday was actually faster than Magnussen, and the speed trap shows he has the straight line speed so why would he end up 1.6 slower? I think he could have beaten Magnussen's time if he wanted to but chose not to reveal his true pace, unlike the Mercedes today.
Flow viz on the floor

Thats what I think too! Yesterday AMuS reported that they where told ""But there are still reserves there."
http://http://www.auto-motor-und-spo...a-8065985.html
So it seems that Ferrari is very confident about the Performanco of the car![]()
S2 is a mix of aero downforce corners, and traction corners. I'd say it's a good sign to be competitive here. Maybe Ferrari didn't want to stress the engine down the long straights in S1 and S3
